How is the date of Easter established each year?

Holy Week is a date that many Spaniards can look forward to. It is a week in which, in Spain, the majority of cities and municipalities take to their streets thrones with Christian images, which represent the passion of Jesus Christ according to the Bible.

Every year, this celebration has a date different, although it does not vary too much from year to year. But how do you choose which days it will be this week?

Easter should be the Sunday after the first full Moon after the spring equinox. For its calculation, the astronomical full Moon must be used. This event occurs between March 22 and April 25. In this case, the next Holy Week will cover the days from Sunday, April 2 to the following Sunday, April 9, 2023.

However, the Holy Week holidays vary their days depending on which autonomous community, since each region has its own school calendar; The same happens with holidays.
